Background:  What is Advanced Audit?

  1. The Advanced Audit Reporting Tool is a robust application that monitors and documents details of system utilization in your NextGen system.
  2. The Advanced Audit Reporting Tool tracks user actions in the system for HIPAA tracking and auditing purposes.
  3. The Advanced Audit Reporting Tool is heavily used for MIPS/Medicaid PI measure tracking and reporting and must be treated with care.
  4. Changes made (accidentally or purposely) can adversely affect your MIPS/Medicaid PI numbers.
  5. Access to this tool must be carefully considered and should be limited to a few select users.
  6. Recommended Access:  Practice manager and/or HIPAA Security Officer.

Who should have access to Advanced Audit?

  1. Access to Advanced Audit must be carefully considered and should be limited to a few select users.
  2. It is recommended that only staff that are responsible for monitoring system activity have access to this tool.
  3. Recommended Access:  Practice manager and/or HIPAA Security Officer.
  4. Changes made (accidentally or purposely) can adversely affect your MIPS/Medicaid PI numbers and have implications from a HIPAA standpoint.

Advanced Audit Considerations & Client Responsibilities

  1. It is the client’s responsibility to run the Advanced Audit report as needed (not TSI Healthcare).
  2. Reports should be run after hours and when no one else is using your system to minimize any performance interruptions.
  3. Users should NOT turn off or change any audit settings.
